2nd International Scientific Conference Recent Innovations in Science and Technology, Economic and Social Fields

AUE FON University from North Macedonia in partnership with Luarasi University from Albania, EIC from Bosnia and Hercegovina, and the University of Donja Gorica in Montenegro organized the second international scientific conference on “RECENT INNOVATIONS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL FIELDS” which was held in Skopje, online, April 16, 2021. The conference was sponsored by the Western Balkans Fund.
The conference brought together an interdisciplinary community of scientists and professionals working in the fields of law, economics, ICT, and education. The conference was organized in four sessions and served as an exchange platform for debating and pinpointing the latest research, good practices, strategies, and policies on the four main fields that affect everyday life in the Western Balkans region and beyond. Participants were invited to submit abstracts for presentations. Abstracts of recent innovations in science and technology, economic and social fields were submitted and evaluated. After the conference, selected papers will be published in a conference book. A double-layered blind review process will be undertaken to select suitable conference papers to make up for chapters in this book to be published by the end of May 2021.
The second international scientific conference was one of the main activities and deliverables of the SRARE Project, sponsored by WBF. During the Plenary Session, the Chairman of the Session, Mr. Igor Jovanoski expressed his considerations regarding the importance of the project as the first milestone for further cooperation among partners in the Western Balkans Region.
The second greeting speech in the plenary session was held by Dr. Raymond Akiki, President of AUE FON University. Dr. Akiki pinpointed the opportunities offered by this international scientific conference to share ideas, to develop and communicate best practices, to take ways of teaching generated from universities and their professional schools to combine them, to dispute and see how could be of use for scholars and respective disciplines covered by the conference.
Prof.Asoc.Dr.Anni Dasho Sharko as Project Manager of the project “Strengthening Regional Academic and Research Exchange”, sponsored by WBF, highlighted the importance of the project as a real contribution to enhancing and strengthening regional cooperation and cohesion. The conferences serve to create a permanent and consolidated relationship with partner HEIs in the Western Balkans.
Dr. Nikoleta Dukanovic in her greeting speech stated the importance of internationalization for teaching and research activities as a crucial project initiative. Teaching staff members find internationalization very beneficial since it makes a great contribution to the regional and cross-border cooperation into strengthening regional cohesion in the Western Balkans.
The conference was organized into 4 sessions respectively: Law and Politics, Economics, ICT, and Education. Very interesting papers were presented in the sessions with very productive discussions.
